Indian study shows abortion/breast cancer link

A recent study in the Indian Journal of Cancer indicates that abortion correlates with a a 6.2 fold higher risk of breast cancer, according to this National Catholic Register article. The Register article also notes this meta-analysis in the Cancer Causes Control journal which shows the link between induced abortion and breast cancer among Chinese women. The study concludes: “IA is significantly associated with an increased risk of breast cancer among Chinese females, and the risk of breast cancer increases as the number of IA increases. If IA were to be confirmed as a risk factor for breast cancer, high rates of IA in China may contribute to increasing breast cancer rates.”
