Here is a link to good essay by Michael Cook discussing the Vatican’s recent document on assisted suicide and euthanasia. In response to the trend towards legalization and acceptance of assisted suicide and euthanasia, the document (which is entitled Samaritanus Bonus) from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith sets forth a clear reaffirmation of the Catholic Church’s long-standing opposition to such practices.
